The Purpose Driven Path

Indiana/Kentucky Border

What is purpose?

noun
1. the reason for which something exists or is done, made, used, etc.

Maybe the question I should be asking is do you know what your purpose in life might be? I enjoy reminders and I can say the moment that this picture was taken I was reminded of my purpose.  Once I realized the purpose of this road trip nothing else truly mattered. (Check out my previous post to know more about the road trip).

It took me awhile to own the title or shall I say purpose of “storytelling.”  I knew that a lot depends on telling the whole truth of a story, and being able to paint the picture of someone’s emotions.  Attempting to erase the feeling of, “you had to be there,” and instead, “I totally understand, I feel as though I was there.”  The purpose of the “Photography Love Letters” series of the Final 48 Project is a labor of love, and merges the world of story telling, genealogy, emotions, and place.  Documenting the stories is my purpose.

Will there be nights when your purpose keeps you awake?

Will there be days when you want to give up?

Will there be days when you say no one is reading or wants to read about the journey of grief?

Will there be people that will reject your idea?

When will the day come when you know you are living in your purpose?

I struggle with these questions daily.  Everyday I get discouraged or want to throw in the towel because I feel like no one is reading, but then I receive a sweet reminder that I cannot give up.  Your words encourage me.  Everyday I log onto Facebook I notice someone that is hurting, and realize the power of sharing the stories on this platform.  My motivation comes in the form of pictures, and priceless messages that encourage me to keep pushing on this purpose driven path.  I know that God didn’t bring me this far to leave me.  I accept my purpose, and because of your love and support I must keep going.  My greatest hurt birthed this ministry, and it is my purpose to share the story of strength with the world.

XOXO,

RJ
